Spring Equinox

The first day of spring. The word “equinox” comes from the Latin for “equal” and “night.” As the sun crosses the equator, the hours of daylight and nighttime are nearly equal. The equinoxes are the only times when the sun rises directly due East and sets directly due West for everyone on Earth.
This point of balance starts shifting towards light as we experience more daylight each day into summer.
